AFROFUTURISM: VISIONARY EDITION
This project was created for my Photographic Project/Capstone class. I created AI-generated images and merged them with images I captured along with writing a thesis paper. In my thesis, I described how Afrofuturism and Sci-Fi elements change how society views Black people and how it is used to empower the African Diaspora. In my paper, I explain how Art, Commerce, and my personal Voice influences my project. In the aspect of Art, Afrofuturism can be seen in literature, fashion, spirituality, etc. Afrofuturism influences Commerce through media, television, music, art, and design. Lastly, it influences my personal Voice because it allows me to use the resources that I have to create something unique. It also allows me to collaborate with people I know to not only help expand on the topic itself but also work with individuals who understand the struggles and obstacles Black people go through.
